Cultivating community living:

A programmatic diversity of ways of living

MULTIVERS — Housing as a System, ZAC de l’Amphithéâtre, Metz

MULTIVERS is not a housing block.
It is a compressed city, designed to absorb difference, change, and time.

Located at the edge of the Parc de la Seille, the project negotiates density through fragmented volumes, calibrated heights, and controlled verticality—maximizing light, views, and porosity while complying precisely with the ZAC framework.

The architecture moves beyond a single way of living.
Panoramic apartments, rooftop houses with gardens, artist studios, modular units: multiple typologies coexist, anticipating evolving lifestyles rather than fixing them.

The ground level is porous and active.
Passages cut through the block.
Work, services, and housing overlap.
Circulation becomes social infrastructure.

A raised landscape at R+2 introduces a second ground plane—shared terraces, private gardens, productive landscapes—while the heart of the block operates as an urban micro-ecosystem: rain gardens, biodiversity refuge, and climate buffer.

Structure is flexible.
Use is reversible.
Carbon is a design constraint.

MULTIVERS proposes a contemporary housing model:
dense but breathable, regulated but open, urban yet biophilic.

Architecture as framework.
Living as variable.

A diversity of living ways that helps to lighten the image and mass of the project while integrating the densification desired by the City, notably the floating village of townhouses and its elevated green gardens.
